NATURES HEALING.....Thanks Mother Nature! Today classes are back in session, I've got a full load but I'm ready.....I was up early feeling meh, and decided it was time to shake the meh feelings off......Meditation, followed by the sweetest ...heart opening yoga practice, 30 min of hula hooping to inspirational tunes (who knew one could make up a hooping routine to *Let There Be Peace on Earth*..tee-hee). After that I headed out for a run.......Outbound I kept the music off, providing my thoughts the freedom to roam without distraction, as it began to sprinkle my emotions began to rise and I found myself intentionally running in large puddles of water. Each time one foot landed I made sure the other touched down harder, creating a reversal of rain.....splash, splash, splash....it felt sooooo good.......by the time I was heading inbound Mother Nature was feeling what my soul needed and opened the skies up allowing the rain to come down hard and soak me to the bone.......cleansing me......freeing me from fear, worry and anger....I responded by cranking my tunes up and wouldn't you know, the next song up was The Weather Girls*Its Raining Men*......Perfect! I walked in my place soaked to the bone, feeling like a brand new ME! Nature is the best medicine around......Peace
I did not sleep well last night......tonight's not looking any better. I'm hurt,
I'm sad, I'm angry, I'm confused.....running something so peaceful turned into pure terror. I'm lost, how can one begin to make sense of all this.......I have ...not watched any t.v. But I've seen video via social media, listened to reports via radio and read many articles.....I'm afraid.....yes I said afraid.....what can I do to quell this fear I ask myself as the tears fall like running water.......I will continue to live from a place of peace and love, I will give out peace and love freely, I will not let my fears keep me from participating in any event, I will love thy neighbor, family and friends.....I will spread peace and love......I want peace on earth......so I will let it begin with ME...will you join me? Please.......we can change the world together if we each do our part......Peace & Love y'all #BOSTON2013
Tuesday Giggle: So I was teaching my first class @ 8:00am; two of the nurses sit
in the front row......real up close and personal to me.....Well at the end of class one hands me this sticky note and said "I hope this is a blessing, I'd want
someone to tell me"....I read the note and frantically search my bag for a mirror, as I exam my nostrils I see nothing.....except.....my nose ring!! I busted out laughing, more so in relief, and because clearly she was all up in my NOSE....HAhaha.....I had to share the story with the following class......it took them five minutes to stop laughing.....Lol....I LOVE teaching, be it nurse education or yoga...students are priceless!!
Monday Self Shout Out: Here are my final
results, I'm extremely satisfied!! As I've mentioned before I'm a slow runner, and time has not been my focus.....BUT......I can't help but patting myself on the back for my time. Clearly I started off way to fast, I know that was crowd energy.....I found a nice pace, and like my 5k time.....but that hill on
Roosevelt!! LAWD, that ain't no joke!!! Especially because It
was in that last 1.2 miles. My personal goal was to finish under 60 minutes
DONE! And I wanted to run the entire 5 miles without stopping as I've been
working on endurance post my injury last summer, DONE!! I actually finished 90 seconds quicker than my last training run. It was a perfect day for a run, I had a awesome time!! My next race is 4/28 a simple 5k, but I have a 48 mile bike ride in two weeks, I'm also in training for my 100 mile charity bike ride in August. Healthy IS Sexy!
WELP, I turned in both final exams! This semester was challenging for many reasons, and it got really dark there for a minute. But that's the beauty of life, it's not always easy, but those intense moments promote growth and inspiration. Only a few more classes before my first graduation
.....yayyyyy......Now it's time to have some fun and run this Shamrock Shuffle Sunday!! Come out and cheer us on or track my progress using my BIB#. First race of the season for me, I love this time of the year!
