Yes full moon I feel your presence!! The Full Moon at 14 degrees Virgo takes place at 12:05 P.M. CST, my Mind, Body and Spirit are very aware of its arrival. Sleeping this week has been filled with vivid dreams, you know the ones that leave you questioning if they were real…..did that happen…..did I do that….are you really here? This full moon brings with it pulling and tugging of my creativity and reality, I’ve been awoken with ideas that led me to tap away at my computer screen in the wee hours, only to delete the words after my morning yoga practice. I’ve criticized every small decision I’ve made while praising myself for the big decisions…..all in all this full moon has proven to be MESSY for me!
I’ve been awake since 4:44 AM, meditated on the dream, returned to bed only to arise at 5:54 AM to honor the request of my body to take to my yoga mat. As my body guided me through hip opening and back bending, and balancing asanas I began to feel extra sensitive……laying in savasana it took everything for me to be still. Taking to my laptop to release these thought from my head I notice I have six word documents open, all related to school, business, blogging and finance……uggghh…..I’m going to step away from it all…..Instead I’m going to take too long of a shower, dress in cute, warm spring like colors, spend time reading with the kindergartens then a long slow walk to my favorite nail salon and relax with a Mani/Pedi.
Mindfulness-based self-care is what I’m providing myself today, you see this care goes wayyyyyy beyond yoga and meditation, its awareness of every breath, every movement, every thought without attachment…..just awareness. Below is a short demo of one of my One Legged Balancing asanas (Eka Pada Koundinyasana) I’ll post a detailed version to YouTube later this evening.
